Gilbert looks to increase ambulance transportation rates

Fire & Rescue would like to add seventh unit in service

Gilbert is looking to increase its ambulance transportation fees 1.7% in the coming fiscal year and join a rate group with other serice providers in the metro area.

But even with the rate increase, the maximum allowed by the Arizona Department of Health Services, the town’s rates will be lower than others in the area, according to Fire Chief Rob Duggan.

Duggan asked Gilbert Town Council for direction on the rates and applying to join the Phoenix Metro Rate Group at the town’s March 11 financial retreat. Council gave a go-ahead to pursue it.
