Gilbert hosting annual Global Village Festival on April 1

Gilbert will host its annual Gilbert Global Village Festival, a free multicultural celebration for all ages, April 1 on the Gilbert Civic Center Lawn, 50 E. Civic Center Drive, Gilbert. 

The festival, which goes from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., celebrates the cultural diversity of the community. It features several activities for people who attend: 

  • The Parade of Nations at 11:30 a.m. will have a display of world flags and a short message; 
  • Stage Entertainment includes representations of different cultures as they showcase various songs and dances;  
  • Explore-A-Nation allows visitors to travel around various booths to participate in cultural activites for children and adults; 
  • Religions of the World has booths to learn facts about the traditions that have shaped each religion; 
  • The World Market is an immersive shopping experience that surrounds the visitor with the sounds, sights and scents of cultures near and far. Shoppers can find artwork, gifts, and apparel; 
  • The Taste of Nations features a selection of cultural food and drinks from local vendors.  

Vendors will be accepting card and cash payments. No ATMs are available on site. Visitors should plan accordingly. Vendors are subject to change. 

This event is held at Gilbert's Civic Center Event Site. The park is fully accessible by strollers, wheelchairs and walkers. Accommodations for entry/exit will be made as needed for attendees utilizing a wheelchair at this event. 

ESL Interpreters will be on-site at both stages translating all announcements.  

Leashed pets are allowed at this event, but organizers ask visitors with pets to pick up after them.
