Gilbert’s Light the World Giving Machines drew about 30,000 visitors to the downtown area during the 2025 holiday season and generated roughly 43,000 donated items benefiting local and international nonprofits, according to church officials.
The machines, operated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and located near Water Tower Plaza, were available from mid-November through the end of December, offering residents a way to purchase specific goods and services for people in need.
Taylor Anderson, who served as a Gilbert city lead for the initiative alongside his wife Teresa, outlined the scale of the program and its local roots.
