Gilbert's Day of Service provides helping hands for neighbors

Gilbert’s Day of Service will take place Saturday, a community effort to help residents who need help completing small household tasks.

Volunteers of all ages can register  for the Sept. 9 event, which will run from 7:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.

Projects include:

  • Yardwork
  • Painting
  • Cleaning
  • Removing furniture/appliances
  • Help with trash and recycling
  • Changing lightbulbs, air filters and smoke detector batteries

Volunteers will meet at OneSource Shipping & Printing, 1496 N. Higley Road, Suite 102, at 7:30 a.m. for an orientation and will be given assignments for households that need assistance, according to a release.

Groups who participate are asked to bring any gloves, masks, yard tools, cleaning supplies and ladders they have available.
