Gilbert creating public works board

The town of Gilbert is working toward standing a Public Works Advisory Board.

Staff members presented the idea to Gilbert Town Council at the conclusion of its two-day strategic retreat May 22-23, and council directed staff to proceed with drafting an ordinance for its consideration.

The board would be a nine-member body that would advise council on the services provided by the Public Works Department as well as the infrastructure that supports those services, said Jennika Horta, assistant to the town manager.
