Gilbert chief details police involvement with Lord homicide suspects

Gilbert Police remain actively pursuing 12 cases involving teen violence even as prosecutors announced the first indictments and arrests in the Preston Lord homicide, Chief Michael Soelberg said.

“Our hearts are with the family of Preston Lord,” he said at a news conference Wednesday evening shortly after the indictments were announced. “As an East Valley community, we banded together to bring justice for our victims, and we will continue to fight for justice for all of our victims.”

Soelberg held the evening news conference to detail Gilbert’s interactions with the four arrested suspects in the Lord homicide: Talan Renner, 17; Talyn Vigil, 17; Dominic Turner, 20; and William Owen Hines, 18. Each is being charged with first-degree homicide and one count of kidnapping. Turner also was charged with aggravated robbery. Renner and Vigil are being charged as adults despite their age.
