Gilbert Chamber honors excellence on awards night

The Gilbert Chamber of Commerce honored 19 people and groups Nov. 8 at the 27th annual Community Excellence Awards.
The winners were teachers, volunteers, business members, public safety workers and more and were recognized by the Chamber, Gilbert Public Schools, Higley Unified School District, Chandler-Gilbert Community College and Independent Newsmedia.

Staff Member of the Year: Juan Valdez.
Educator of the Year: Sujatha Krishnaswamy.

Beautification Award: Gilbert Parks and Recreation Department, McQueen Activity Center courtyard.
