Gilbert C. Baxter, 82 Gilbert C. Baxter, 82, passed away June 6, 2008. Affectionately known as "Bud," he was a World War II veteran and avid golfer. He raised his family in Fairmont, Minn., retired in the late 1980s and moved permanently with his wife to Apache Junction in 1991. He was born in 1925 in Philadelphia, Pa, to Enoch and Elanor Baxter. He is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Ruth L. Baxter, and his daughter, Deborah Baxter Freeman. Survivors include his children, Glenn (Mary), Wayne (Peggy) and Jeff (Karen) Baxter; grandchildren, Nikki, Danielle, Angela, Brent, T.J., Kyle, David, Joshua and Andrew; great-grandchildren Weston, Paige, Jovohn, Samantha, Seth and Evan; and special friend, Margaret Ball. Mr. Baxter was an active member and volunteer of the Gold Canyon United Methodist Church.
