Seven recent graduates of Gilbert Fire and Rescue's Training Academy will become firefighters
Gilbert Fire and Rescue welcomed seven new firefighters July 1—recent graduates of Gilbert’s Recruit Training Academy at the Public Safety Training Facility.
The new firefighters are: Bryan Aldendifer, Paul Cappello, Jacob Fletcher, Jayce Golosewski, Foday Kiawein, Jonathan Steffen and Zachary Suprak.
"I want to welcome Gilbert’s newest firefighters and commend them on their successful completion of the Recruit Training Academy,” Former Gilbert Fire and Rescue Chief Jim Jobusch said in a press release. “They are the first recruits to be trained at the Gilbert Public Safety Training Facility and are now prepared to safely and effectively handle the incidents they will encounter in the community.”

Jobusch was still the chief when the new started.
Gilbert Town Council approved its new fiscal year 2022-23 budget June 14, which included the hiring of 19 new firefighters. The new hires started when the budget went into effect July 1.
Gilbert Fire and Rescue will host a training academy this fall for additional firefighter recruits from Gilbert and neighboring departments.
