Construction crews in Gilbert can now start pouring concrete as early as 4 a.m., an hour earlier than other construction activities, under a recent change to town code that brings local rules in line with new state requirements.
A new state law requires municipalities to allow concrete to be poured at least one hour before the general construction activities are allowed in the town, which in Gilbert is at 5 a.m., meaning concrete can be poured at 4 a.m., Development Services Director Kyle Mieras said.
The town did not consider shifting general construction hours later in the morning, Mieras said.
