The Neely Traditional Academy in Gilbert has been recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School for 2023.
The U.S. Department of Education selects schools based on their overall academic performance or progress “in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups on assessments,” according to a release.
“The honorees for our 2023 National Blue Ribbon Schools Award have set a national example for what it means to raise the bar in education,” U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona said.
“The leaders, educators, and staff at our National Blue Ribbon Schools continually inspire me with their dedication to fostering academic excellence and building positive school cultures that support students of all backgrounds to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.”
"We were super excited about the A+ School of Excellence recognition this past April, but this is on a national level," Principal Jennifer Greene said.
Neely, 500 E. Houston Ave. in Gilbert, is one of 353 schools recognized for this year’s honor, the release stated.
