While residents of newer developments just north of 163rd and Grand avenues lined up on Facebook last month to list their frustrations with the area’s lack of service-oriented businesses, another group living farther north was on the opposite side of the fence.
These are residents of the Saguaro Acres development, built in the 1990s on the edges of the city’s northern boundary with Maricopa County.
By and large, many of those residents moved to the area more than a decade ago looking for a more rural desert lifestyle that was close enough to the city but not “of” the city.
