The left leaning Legislative District 5 will have a noncompetitive election for the Arizona House of Representatives this year.
Democrats Sarah Liguori and Aaron Márquez will have a free ride to the district’s two House seats, as the two candidates are running unopposed and there are no candidates running on the Republican ticket.
LD 5 is bounded by Thunderbird Road in the north and Van Buren Street in the south. It covers much of the central corridor bounded roughly by 19th Avenue on the west and 16th Street and 40th Street on the east.
