The deadline to purchase tickets to the third annual Peoria Hometown Heroes luncheon is nearing.

The Hometown Heroes Awards are a celebration of individuals who give back to the city, including Peoria businesses for their achievements and distinguished contributions to the community and beyond.

Former Councilmember Vicki Hunt will be honored for lifetime achievement.

Ticket sales for the event close Feb. 15. To reserve a spot, go to https://tickets.yourvalley.net/e/peoria-hometown-heroes-awards-luncheon-2.

Family, friends and dignitaries will attend the luncheon Feb. 20, and pay their respects to some of the hardest-working Heroes in the West Valley who have made Peoria a great place, many of whom have dedicated decades to the community and made it what it is today.

Independent Newsmedia President and CEO Charlene Bisson will open the event, and Peoria Councilmember Brad Shafer will speak.
Video interviews of the Heroes were produced by members of the city’s communications team and will be shown at the event.

Peoria Independent News Editor Philip Haldiman will present the awards to the 12 Heroes.

Lunch will be served by Dillon’s Kansas City BBQ.

“The well of amazing people in Peoria is deep, and this event is dedicated to them,” Haldiman said.

Peoria Councilmembers Michael Finn and Jon Edwards, as well as former Mayor Cathy Carlat and Theater Works Executive Director Chris Hamby will attend the event.
