Beka Sikharulidze and his wife, Maia Gusharashvili, come from a mountainous Eastern European nation of 3.7 million people that’s about the size of South Carolina.
That’s one reason why the Georgian filmmakers were so excited late last year when Sikharulidze found out he was one of four nominees for Outstanding Lead Actor at the Pitch to Screen Film Awards in New York City.
The trips Sikharulidze and Maia Gusharashvili have been taking recently have been a sort of victory tour, collecting awards and nominations for their film “From Life to Life,” which was shown Monday at the Chandler International Film Festival.
