Genesee A. (Reschke) Balfany, 87 Genesee A. (Reschke) Balfany, 87, of Sun City, passed away July 6 with family at her side in Boswell Memorial Hospital.She was born June 2, 1921 in Black River Falls, Wis., daughter of Herman and Edna (Halverson) Reschke.She married Orin Lester, who passed away while serving in the military in 1944. She married Francis Balfany Jan. 14, 1945 in Iowa.She and her husband, Francis lived in Beloit, Wis., for 25 years, where she was a teacher and retired as a principal at Royce Elementary School. She had a passion and love for her school, and students. She retired in 1986 and she and Francis moved to Sun City to pursue her love for the golf course and sunny skies. Ms. Balfany was an active member of St. Christopher's Episcopal Church of Sun City and involved with many activities in the community. She loved spending time with her friends, while golfing, playing cards or doing crafts. Survivors include four grandchildren: Amy Lynn Balfany, Rebecca Seefeldt and Miguel Garcia of Phoeniz, Amanda (Seefeldt) and Rick Howe of Enfield, Conn., Genesee (Seefeldt) and Jon Schaufus of Fitchburg, Mass., five very special to her heart great-grand children; Julian and Aidan Garcia, Parker and Cole Schaufus and Colin Howe.She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Balfany, her son, Jim Balfany, her daughter, Judy Balfany McDowell, granddaughter Baby McDowell, her dear daughter-in-law, Janice Balfany Seefeldt, and a brother, Donald Reschke. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.Memorial services were held in Sun City July 10 at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church. A memorial service and burial will be held at a later date in Beloit, Wis.
