Gary C. Cotten, 75, of Sun City, Arizona, left this earth for Heaven on September 10, 2023. He was born on March 19, 1948, in Odessa, Texas. Gary was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jan Cotten, his daughters Kimberly Cotten-Wintz and Mary Cotten Jones, his grandchildren Lindsay Gauthier, Michaela Jones, Teryn Knight, and his three great grandchildren Lucas, Linkin and Lily. Gary was a Veteran, having served 8 years in the Army National Guard of Alaska. Gary had recently retired from a 50-year career in the real estate industry, owning real estate, mortgage and title companies in Alaska, California and Arizona. After moving to Sun City in 2013, Gary immersed himself into the community, serving on many RCSC committees, as an RCSC Board member, and as a member and officer of the Water Volleyball Club. He also served on several SCHOA committees. Gary loved all animals, especially cats. He and Jan rescued stray and feral cats for 25+ years. He also loved riding motorcycles and was a member of the Riverside, Ca Harley Davidson HOG chapter for many years, and then a member of Chapter S of the Goldwing Road Riders Association. His favorite saying when on a ride was “It’s just another 90 miles!” (IYKYK!) A Celebration of Gary’s Life will be held December 27, 2023, at the Sundial Recreation Center in Sun City. Contact Jan Cotten at 623-523-4203 for details. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Sun City 4 Paws Cat Rescue (4pawsrescue.org) would make Gary smile.
