OLD TOWN

Garage ear marked for Old Town Scottsdale back on track

Despite some palace intrigue at city hall, a long-promised parking garage at the corner of First Street and Brown Avenue is still on schedule to open in the spring of 2027.

Scottsdale Mayor Lisa Borowsky, after initially balking at signing the $1.6 million contract to design the two-story structure, has done so.

Borowsky, who does not like the location of the garage, initially declined to sign the contract and sent it to vice mayor Jan Dubauskas, who supports the garage at its current location.
