FUSD Superintendent to ask for extension in remote learning

Pandemic continues to take its toll

Students in the Florence Unified School District may be spending one to two weeks more in remote learning mode.

At a special FUSD governing board meeting tonight, Superintendent Chris Knutsen will request that board members approve an extension to distance learning for one week for K-8 students with a return to in-person instruction on Feb. 8, and two weeks for 9-12 students with a return to in-person instruction on Feb. 16.

On Jan. 11, Mr. Knutsen went to the board and asked that it approve his recommendation that students at all 12 district schools return to remote learning Jan. 14 through Jan. 29.
