Fugitive arrested after SWAT standoff in Gilbert: PD

Posted

A fugitive out of Minnesota has been arrested after a standoff with police at a Gilbert home, authorities said.

Paris Drake Greer, 33, was taken into custody, police announced Monday night, but provided no details.

Police had been searching for the suspect following a SWAT situation on June 11 at a home near Lindsay and Germann roads.

Gilbert officers responded to a request for a welfare check Sunday evening in the 700 block of East Lovebird Lane after a caller alleged the suspect had threatened a person inside the home with a gun, police said.

“Witnesses who exited the home confirmed the alleged threat to on-scene officers,” Gilbert police said on Twitter.

Police department negotiators attempted to contact the suspect who was believed to still be inside the home.

“After numerous unsuccessful attempts at contacting Drake Greer, Gilbert PD’s SWAT team executed a search warrant on the home and were unable to locate him after a complete and thorough search of the property,” police reported.

Drake Greer has a “fully extraditable out of state warrant for charges related to robbery,” police said.
