A restaurant building that has been vacant for more than a decade at 1231 W. Baseline Road in Mesa is to house a Frutilandia Latin Treats.
The Mesa Board of Adjustment on Aug. 4 voted unanimously to approve a substantial conformance improvement permit for the site, with board members Adam Gunderson and Chris Jones absent.
Daniel Cifuentes of Cifuentes Studio LLC requested the permit to allow for deviations from certain development standards to establish a limited service restaurant with a drive-thru facility at the site. It is within the limited commercial planned area development district, Planner Charlotte Bridges said in a staff report document.
