From the mayor: Paradise Valley’s red-hot summer

Posted

Paradise Valley has been sizzling!

Residential real estate in Paradise Valley continues to outshine the rest of the region, breaking all records. Paradise Valley again earned national recognition as the best place to live in Arizona, and our resorts are receiving the highest praise in the press. And, we enjoy incredible schools and houses of worship.

As your mayor for the past five years, I am so proud of our amazing community. Town Hall must do its part to keep the great news coming for our citizens, and I remain totally committed to solidifying our town’s position among the best of the best.

And, yes, the other “hot” record this year: after a spectacular June, July reminded us — in a big way — that we live in the desert. Like many PV families, we consider ourselves blessed to be able to get away during the heat.

This year, our kids headed to sleepaway camp in the California woods; Robyn and I spent quality time together on Coronado Island (or “PV West” as we jokingly call it) and had fun adventures in SoCal. Our family travels will also take us to beautiful Hawaii. We hope everyone has seized opportunities to make the best of this time of year while creating fun and lasting memories!

Before we know it, the intense heat will end, and we will welcome cooler weather. For those with kids, school days will start again soon. As we turn the page, I’m happy to report that our great town is positioned for continuing success as the council resumes public meetings after the summer break.

Thankfully, the town’s dedicated employees focus year-round on keeping our town safe, well-run, and beautiful. Whenever you get the chance, please consider taking a moment to thank them; such a gesture is always appreciated.

Until the weather breaks, stay cool and safe. Be well, and thanks for the privilege of serving as your mayor.
