From space to Senate: Sen. Mark Kelly gets to work in Arizona

Mark Kelly is reporting for duty once again, this time in a new role for the national figure: Arizona senator.

Sen. Kelly, a Democrat from Tucson, was elected in the November general election to fulfill the remaining two years of former Sen. John McCain’s 2016 term, beating Republican Martha McSally, who had been appointed to fill the vacancy.

His first time serving in office, Sen. Kelly was a Navy pilot before being selected as a NASA astronaut in 1996 where he completed four trips into space.
