Frieda Madeline Christoff, 94, passed away on January 3, 2018 at her residence in Sun City, AZ, with her loving family by her side. She was born to Oscar and Beulah Briesacher on July 9, 1923 in Peabody, KS.Frieda was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Nick Christoff after 66 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her son Donnell Christoff Sr., granddaughter Rebecca Christoff, brothers George, Glen and Edward Briesacher, and sister Ida May Burklow. She is survived by her son Bradley Christoff, grandchildren; Dana Christoff Titzler, Donnell Christoff Jr., and Nicole Christoff Wilson; nine loving great-grandchildren; and her younger sister Geraldine Williams.Frieda graduated from Calumet Township High School in 1941. She supported the World War II effort by working as a chemist for Inland Steel. She also worked as a Store Detective for Goldblatt's Department Store and as a Security Officer for Bethlehem Steel. Her hobby was ceramics and she became a certified ceramics teacher. She also enjoyed cooking and loved to prepare meals for her family. Visitation will be on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. with the Celebration of the Life of Frieda Christoff to follow at 11:00 A.M. in the Main Chapel at the Ridgelawn Funeral Home, 4201 West Ridge Road, Gary, IN 46408. Burial will be following at the Ridgelawn Cemetery in Gary, IN.Frieda will be deeply missed by her devoted family and dear friends. God Grant her Eternal Rest.
