Freeway work ends Wednesday afternoon for Thanksgiving weekend

PHOENIX – Crews will not be working on any freeway projects from Wednesday afternoon until early Monday to accommodate the expect increase in holiday traveling.

No work is scheduled on state highways from noon Nov. 27 until Monday morning, Dec. 2, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

ADOT officials expect traffic to be busiest along Interstate 17 and State Route 87 north of Phoenix as well as I-10 in areas between the Tucson/Phoenix metro areas and California, particularly Wednesday and Sunday afternoons.
