Freeway work blankets Valley this weekend

Closures and restrictions have been set for the weekend along Loop 101, Loop 202 and State Routes 51 and 347, state transportation officials said Thursday.

Drivers can expect detours and slower traffic in these five sections of the Valley from Friday night, Aug. 21, to Monday morning, Aug. 24:

Eastbound Loop 101 will be closed between 51st Avenue and Interstate 17 in the Northwest Valley from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for a widening project.
