Free school supplies, haircuts, gift cards part of Phoenix back-to-school event
The 3rd annual Back-to-School Backpack Giveaway will take place Saturday night at American Family Fields in Phoenix.
Councilwoman Betty Guardado said the event, which is supported by several sponsors, aims to equip more than 1,000 students with school supplies and other resources to “kickstart the school year with confidence.”
This year's backpack giveaway, which begins 6 p.m. July 29, will provide children with backpacks, school supplies and gift cards for families to purchase school clothes. Free haircuts also will be provided.
