Free movie events planned around Scottsdale

Grab your popcorn and settle in for a good movie at two upcoming free events in Scottsdale.

From 7-9 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 12, families are invited to the newly renovated Scottsdale Civic Center, 3939 N. Drinkwater Blvd., for a movie night on the east stage. This free event will feature lawn games, food trucks and a movie on an inflatable screen.

The film is not yet announced.

An ongoing movie event is also being held at 1 p.m. every Friday at both Granite Reef and Via Linda senior centers. Showings vary by location, but you can get updates by calling the senior center ahead of time. Registration is not required.

Granite Reef Senior Center is at 1700 N. Granite Reef Road, and can be reached at 480-312-1700.

Via Linda Senior Center is at 10440 E. Via Linda, and can be reached at 480-312-5810.
