Free concerts, movies, family fun Feb. 25 in downtown Mesa

I Love Mesa Day is back on Saturday, Feb. 25, with a full day of family fun.

The city of Mesa and Downtown Mesa Association are partnering to bring free concerts, movies and mostly free activities to downtown. The daylong celebration started in 2021 to support local businesses and introduce valley residents to the uniquely local offerings in downtown Mesa, according to a release.

“I Love Mesa Day promotes community by bringing people together to experience live music, movies, a variety of activities for the whole family, and a host of special offerings from locally owned restaurants and retailers throughout Downtown Mesa,” Nancy Hormann, Downtown Mesa Association president and executive director, said in the release. “The Downtown Mesa Association and city of Mesa continue to work in partnership on this annual event to create an opportunity to celebrate our thriving community.”

I Love Mesa Day activities include:

  • Downtown Mesa Farmers Market from 8 a.m. to noon along the Center Street side of the Mesa Arts Center.
  • Mesa’s i.d.e.a Museum and Arizona Museum of Natural History will offer free admissions from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Main Street and downtown activations will start at 11 a.m. and will include a petting zoo, carnival and rides.
  • Free outdoor movies, roller skating demonstrations and open skating at The Plaza at Mesa City Center.

The concert series at North Macdonald will begin at 5 p.m. and will feature national bands. The night will end with a spectacular fireworks display over downtown Mesa starting at 9 p.m.
