The 23rd annual Kids Maricopa County Car Seat Safety Check event is 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, Feb. 26, at Walmart, 240 W. Baseline Road in Mesa.
“Drive through and have your child’s car seat or booster seat inspected by a trained safety expert to ensure proper installation,” according to a release.
Road injuries are the leading cause of preventable deaths and injuries to children in the U.S. Correctly used child safety seats can reduce the risk of death by as much as 71%. More than half of car seats are not used or installed correctly, the release states.
