The Arizona Museum of Natural History and the i.d.e.a. Museum have joined the efforts of hundreds of museums across the country in the Blue Star Museum program.
The program offers free admission to active duty military personnel and their families starting on Armed Forces Day, May 20, through Labor Day, Sept. 4.
The free admission program allows entry to the two Mesa museums for the military ID holder and up to five family members, according to a release.
“We are so pleased that the Department of Arts and Culture is able to show our gratitude to military families through the Blue Star Museum program,” says Cindy Ornstein, director of the city of Mesa’s department of arts and culture. “We appreciate all they’ve given, and hope access to the Arizona Museum of Natural History and the i.d.e.a. Museum this summer will enable joy, family bonding, shared learning and lasting, warm memories.”
Blue Star Museums is a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense and participating museums across America. For a list of participating museums, visit arts.gov/bluestarmuseums.
