Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation debuts programming calendar at Taliesin West

Posted

The Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation is reinvigorating the famed architect’s winter home in Scottsdale, Taliesin West, with an array of new daily tours, diverse cultural events and youth and family programs to offer first-time and returning visitors an opportunity to learn more about Wright’s legacy and principles of architecture through a brand-new lens.

With construction beginning in 1938, Taliesin West served as both Wright’s desert laboratory and a place of community, innovation, design, art and performance. As part of a continued effort to preserve that legacy and advance the Foundation’s mission to inspire the world to discover and embrace an architecture for better living through connections to nature, the arts and each other, the site welcomes nearly 100,000 visitors annually to experience its unique setting through intimate, seasonal and rotating programming.

Available to the public as well as Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation members, highlights this fall and winter include:

Curated by the Foundation in partnership with the Tony Vaccaro Studio in Long Island City, NY, and the Monroe Gallery in Santa Fe, NM, the exhibition provides an intimate and exclusive look into these two legends of American art and architecture. Featuring portraits taken by Tony Vaccaro for Look Magazine, the images showcase a more human and personal side to these two luminaries, while drawing visual symmetry between the images, despite being photographed years apart.

Shelters In the Desert Guided Tour | 90 minutes | Sundays and Mondays, Jan. 1–March 31, 2024 | $49 - $54 per adult, $35 - $38 per student (ages 13-25 with student ID), $24 - $27 youth (ages 6-12), $39.20 - $43.20 per member

Taliesin West will offer a STEAM-based story and craft hour, free of charge for its youngest visitors and their parents or guardians.
