Francisco Rivera TrujilloFrancisco Rivera Trujillo passed away Nov. 27, 2006 at Marian Medical Center at age 92. Francisco was born in Magdalena, Sonora, Mexico, June 26, 1914. At age 6 his family relocated from Mexico to Queen Creek. In 1932, Francisco and Luz married in Phoenix. Francisco and Luz were married for over 70 years before her passing in March 2002.Francisco moved his family to Santa Maria, Calif. in 1943. Francisco was initially employed by Union 76 Oil Company and entered the Laborers International Union in 1950. Francisco worked in the construction of oil wells for 25 years, including Gray Construction prior to his retirement in 1972. In addition he continued to be an active member of the Laborers International Union for over 50 years.Francisco enjoyed watching son, Robert, and numerous grandsons play baseball. He particularly enjoyed playing cards with his grandsons and spent much of his time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He leaves his family with a strong sense of hard work and loyalty.Francisco is survived by six children, Celia Valdez, Linda Morales, Margaret Avalos, and Virginia Long of Santa Maria, Calif. Jessie Silvas (San Jose, Cali.) and Robert Trujillo (Glendale, Cali.). In addition to his six children he has 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Francisco was preceded in death by his brother, Santiago Trujillo, sisters, Inez Trujillo, Rosinda Aldecoa, Guadalupe Baez and Maria Jesus Valenzuela.Visitation began Friday, Dec. 1 and rosary followed at the chapel of Dudley Hoffman Mortuary. Mass was held Dec. 2 at St. John Neumann, 966 W. Orchard St., Santa Maria, Calif. Interment followed at the Santa Maria Cemetery.The family of Francisco R. Trujillo requests that no donations be made. Arrangements are under the direction of Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary and Crematory.
