Four running for 2 Chandler Unified School Board seats

Chandler Unified School District Governing Board President Patti Serrano won’t seek reelection. Monday, Jan. 6 was a county deadline for candidates to turn in the 400 petition signatures to run for school boards Nov. 3; incumbent Kurt Rohrs and challengers Leanna DeKing, Zeyna Pruzhanovsky and Stacey Etherington will vie for the two seats up for new 4-year terms this year.

One incumbent and three challengers are set to be on the November ballot for Chandler Unified School District Governing Board seats.

Kurt Rohrs, first elected to the board in 2022, has filed to run for a second term in the upcoming Nov. 3 election, for which petition signatures were to be turned in July 6.

The other new 2022 board member, Patti Serrano, who has been board resident the past two years, decided to not seek reelection, so there will be at least one new board member next January.
