The Foster Alliance received a $50,000 grant from Thunderbirds Charities to support a program that provides items for children in foster care across the state.
The alliance’s Essential Services Program ensures children entering foster care receive items such as beds, cribs, clothing, shoes, hygiene supplies, diapers and wipes, what officials with the organization said offer comfort, dignity, and a sense of stability during a difficult transition.
“Our Essential Services program creates a safety net for foster children and their families and because of this level of community support, we can serve more than 8,000 children in foster care each year,” said Maureen Noe, president and CEO of the Phoenix-based The Foster Alliance, in a press release.
