Former Surprise mayor Lyn Truitt died on June 3 at his home in Morrow, Ohio.
Truitt, 73, was the mayor of Surprise from 2008 to 2012. He also served as the chair for the Surprise Planning and Zoning Commission.
According to his obituary at Legacy.com, Truitt was the owner and broker of L.E. Truitt and Associates Real Estate Consulting and also a certified international property specialist.
He was active with the Salvation Army board and served on the board for the West Valley Art Museum.
He moved to Ohio in 2017.
Truitt was predeceased by his former life partner Donna; and his mother Esther Truitt. He is survived by his wife, Sherry, and his two children and several grandchildren.
