During my time as governor, I prioritized health care solutions that delivered better outcomes at a lower cost to taxpayers. We expanded access to care, restored KidsCare for working families and made long-overdue investments in Arizona’s behavioral health system. That work made a difference — but there is more to do.
Proposition 409 is a smart, targeted investment in public health infrastructure that strengthens care for the people who need it most. Valleywise Health is home to Arizona’s only public teaching hospital, the world-renowned Arizona Burn Center and the state’s largest provider of inpatient behavioral health care. It is also the sole provider of court-ordered mental health evaluations in Maricopa County.
This bond will modernize Valleywise facilities, expand behavioral health capacity and ensure continued training of the health care professionals who serve across our state.
This is a fiscally responsible proposal with real, lasting benefits. I am proud to support Prop 409 and encourage voters across Maricopa County to do the same.
