Former Centennial student files $20M notice of claim against Peoria district

Claim was served in January, but recently came to light

A former Centennial High School student and his family have filed a $20 million notice of claim against the Peoria Unified School District, alleging the district did not do its duty in protecting him from “harm caused by unfit and dangerous individuals hired as staff.”

The claim was served in January, but recently came to light.

A notice of claim is a formal written document that informs an entity of a grievance, allowing them to settle an issue before a lawsuit is filed.
