Before Mr. Peloquin suggests to this community that an entire RCSC board be replaced, he needs to do his research.
First, this current board, or very few of them if any, were even on the board when the decision about Mountain View was made. Many of the current board ran and were elected because they opposed the decision on Mountain View along with other actions of previous boards, including their attitudes toward members.
In terms of the rehab center, this board had nothing to do with that either. That was a decision of Maricopa County and RCSC had no input. None of us like it, but vote out the people at the county for it as they were responsible, not the RCSC board.
Does security need to be beefed up? Absolutely, but again that is not the sole responsibility of the board. RCSC needs to take a more proactive approach on this. The county sheriff also needs to put more patrols in this area.
Yes, changes need to happen, but this board has done more to involve the community in its decisions than any board I’ve seen in the almost 10 years I have been a homeowner here. They are not a “my way or the highway board” and realize they work for the residents of this community. There is no board that every resident of this community will agree with, but this board does not deserve to be called down for things that weren’t their responsibility.
