The 2023 Forbes rankings have placed the city of Phoenix on the list for America's Best Employers By State.

Phoenix officials said a total of 74 companies were recognized in Arizona, and Phoenix came in 19th.

“The City of Phoenix Human Resources Department has a clear mission to attract, develop, support and retain a talented workforce that delivers exceptional services to our community," Human Resources Director David Mathews said.

“To land on a list like this from Forbes – ranked solely based on employee reviews – suggests to me that we are continually moving toward accomplishing that mission."

Forbes worked with market research firm Statista to compile the Best-In-State lists, according to a release, anonymously surveying 70,000 workers across the nation at companies with 500 employees or more.
