Everyone has to eat and for some individuals in Sun City West having enough food is a challenge.
With several Sun City West residents traveling to the Valley View Community Food Bank, 10771 W. Peoria Ave., Sun City to pick up free food, the need was apparent to have a pantry in Sun City West.
Jesse Ramirez, Valley View Community Food Bank founder and director, said it was the same residents that reached out and made the request. He said there were several locations for people to receive help throughout the years. The goal was to reach those people who are truly in need. The Sun City West Foundation, 14465 W R.H. Johnson Blvd., gave permission to the organization to use the building for free for one year, from 8:30 a.m to 1 p.m. every Monday, except certain federal holidays.
