Florence signs onto opioid settlement document

Town can now take part in any negotiations

The Florence Town Council has signed onto a memorandum of understanding related to a massive opioid industry class-action settlement, joining several other cities and towns across Arizona.

The council voted unanimously in favor of signing the memorandum. This will give Florence the ability to accept a settlement offer if one is made.

Currently, a proposed $26 billion nationwide settlement with opioid distributors McKesson, Amerisource Bergen and Cardinal Health and manufacturer Johnson & Johnson apparently is close to finalization with states attorney generals.
