The town of Florence has successfully concluded its search for a new fire chief by choosing Paul Adams.
Mr. Adams has been serving as interim fire chief for the past four months, after retiring from the Avondale Fire Department in 2019. He replaces David Strayer, who retired as Florence’s fire chief in January.
Town Manager Brent Billingsley announced Mr. Adams’ appointment, citing his significant experience with various departments, beginning as an assistant chief in Boone County, Missouri, in 1986 and ultimately serving as fire chief in Johnson County, Kansas, the city of Avondale and, most recently, as the Interim fire chief in Lake Havasu City.
