Florence school implementing change through partnership

While schools across the country contend with some of the lowest teacher morale they’ve ever seen, things at San Tan Heights K-8 School feel different from past years — in a good way.

Michelle Kays, a veteran fifth-grade math teacher, has been at San Tan Heights since it opened in 2016. In recent months, she has noticed much more supportive and productive conversations with her colleagues than any year before.

“Our conversations have shifted, and our culture has shifted based on that,” Kays said.
