Florence council moves closer on decision to annex county land

The land being considered for annexation is generally located at the northwest corner of East Hunt Highway and Attaway Road.

The Florence Town Council heard the first reading of an ordinance calling for the annexation of 37 acres of unincorporated land in what is known as Attaway Crossing.
The ordinance was read during the council’s Monday meeting.

Council members did not comment on the issue.
