Massive home development rezoning approved in far East Valley

7,500 homes slated for project in Pinal County

Florence 287 is a proposed master-planned community spanning 2,249 acres across Florence and Coolidge. The community is bound by Adamsville Road, Hiscox Lane and Vah Ki Inn Road with most of the project south of SR-287.

The Florence Town Council recently unanimously voted to rezone about 2,250 acres of rural land that could bring in more than 7,500 homes to the area.

The council approved the measure for the Florence 287 project at its Monday meeting. The motion approving the rezoning was made by Councilmember Jose “Mo” Maldonado and seconded by Councilmember Kristen Larsen. With Councilmember Michelle Cordes’ resignation, the vote carried 6-0.
