Florence council approves lower property tax rate

The Florence Town Council approved a decrease in the primary property tax rate for fiscal year 2023-24 at its meeting Monday.

The rate has dropped to $1.0556 per $100 home value assessment from $1.0743 last fiscal year. Primary property taxes account for 6.17% of the general fund’s estimated revenue and are projected to bring in more than $1.39 million to the town.
