Florence council allows bond funds to go to other projects

Bond funds earmarked for the controversial Water Barn were redirected when the project stalled.

The Florence Town Council on Monday voted to redirect bond funds to other capital improvement projects.

In 2021, the town authorized the issuance of $4.7 million in excise tax bonds. Some projects the bond money was earmarked for failed to materialize, but the town has been able to redirect some funds to similar projects that were requested in the bonds, a staff report stated.
