Five more SUSD schools become Scottsdale Blue Zones Project approved

Scottsdale Unified School District just had another five schools, including its first high school, become Scottsdale Blue Zones Project approved.

Coronado High School and Mountainside Middle School, as well as Hopi, Redfield and Cochise elementary schools are now approved by the program.

They joined Sequoya Elementary, Echo Canyon, Anasazi Elementary, Pima Elementary and Cocopah Middle Schools as approved by the program.

Five more SUSD schools become Scottsdale Blue Zones Project approved

Scottsdale Unified School District just had another five schools, including its first high school, become Scottsdale Blue Zones Project approved.

Coronado High School and Mountainside Middle School, as well as Hopi, Redfield and Cochise elementary schools are now approved by the program.

They joined Sequoya Elementary, Echo Canyon, Anasazi Elementary, Pima Elementary and Cocopah Middle Schools as approved by the program.

To earn the designation, schools officials have to fill out an application showing what they already do to enhance students’ health and carry out an initiative going a step beyond.

The Blue Zones Project is a community-wide initiative designed to make healthy choices easier and more accessible for everyone. It is inspired by the research of National Geographic Fellow and New York Times best-selling author Dan Buettner, who discovered pockets around the world where people routinely live healthily and happily to be at least 100 years old.
