Fitness equipment trial approved in Sun City

Board to consider other actions

The Recreation Centers of Sun City Board of Directors approved purchasing new fitness equipment on a trial basis for one recreation center.

The plan, passed on a second reading during the April 28 business meeting, is to buy two elliptical, two stationary cycles, two treadmills and two recombinant bikes, all equipped with dual video screens to allow exercisers to either view programming or have access to workout instructions and the Internet while working out.

“After an analysis, we believe it is time to update,” said Steve Oaks, RCSC Long Range Planning Committee member who made the proposal. “We see that some people are going out of Sun City to use other fitness facilities.”
